Halloween Left Overs
Halloween has come and gone but did you make full use of it? You may have binged on sweets left over or confiscated the odd one from the kids while decorating the house, or heading out to a party, but how many of you carved pumpkins?
Did you scrape out the contents to just be thrown away?
If so what a shame you’re missing out on a healthy, tasty delight. As we keep getting told seeds and nuts are great for our diet but it can be hard to find some you like without saturating them in salt. If this sounds familiar to you why not take your left over pumpkin seeds and give this a go.
Separate the pulp from the seeds.
Place the seeds on a baking tray.
Now here’s where we add the flavor. Open up your spicy draw and have fun.
Fiona and I used Smoked Paprika, Cumin, a light sprinkling of Salt and Olive Oil.
Then cooked in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. You begin to hear a few of the seeds popping as they cook similarly to popcorn and yes taste a little similar too.
Once cooked ready to eat, so why not give it a go and see if you found a way to use the whole pumpkin.
